Beyoncé postpones January 14 announcement due to fire in LA

Hours after donating $2.5 million to fire relief efforts through her BeyGOOD foundation, Beyoncé made another big announcement about her reveal of the mystery on Jan. 14.

“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires surrounding parts of Los Angeles,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram on Monday evening. “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have courageous first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community. To join our efforts to support those affected, visit @BeyGOOD. Love, B.”

On Christmas Day, Beyoncé shared on Instagram a cryptic video of herself riding a white horse and waving an American flag. The video ended with the date January 14, 2025. Her followers have speculated what would come of the big reveal, whether it would be an album or a new tour, but fans will have to wait at least a few more days to find out. .

Beyoncé’s $2.5 million pledge through her BeyGOOD foundation, founded in 2013, will provide money directly to families who lost their homes in the Altadena and Palisades fires. BeyGOOD will also help fund churches and community centers to better meet the immediate needs of struggling families.

Beyoncé is the latest Hollywood major to donate big money to firefighting efforts. On January 13, it was announced that Eva Longoria had donated $1 million to help those affected by the fires. The announcement came days after Jamie Lee Curtis also pledged $1 million to support LA during this historic catastrophe.
