Mark Wahlberg celebrates daughter Grace’s 15th birthday with Then-and Now Snaps

Mark Wahlberg is experiencing the growing pains of parenthood.

On Saturday, January 11, the actor posted a video to Instagram to wish his daughter Grace a happy 15th birthday. In the clip — which is set to the NFL theme song on CBS — Wahlberg, 53, shared a sweet throwback photo of herself with Grace as a toddler. The image then cuts to a contemporary video of Grace wearing a white shirt and sunglasses.

“Happy b day Grace🥳🥰15!!! Wow that was fast🥰🥳😘,” he captioned the post.

The Not mapped star and his wife Rhea Durham, 46, share four children: Ella, 21, Michael, 18, Brendan, 16, and Grace.

Wahlberg often posts sweet tributes to his children — and has sung his youngest child’s praises many times in the past.

In a November 2023 interview with E! News, The Fighter actor spoke about Grace’s love for horses and her enormous discipline.

“My daughter, believe it or not, is more disciplined than I am,” he told the outlet at the time. “I didn’t adopt that kind of discipline until I was in my 30s, and I had to do it because of my job. And now she only does it because she wants to be an Olympian.”

In June of that same year, Wahlberg told PEOPLE that Grace’s work ethic inspires even her older siblings.

“She does things that now my other kids are starting to think, ‘Well, we have to do something because she has it all figured out, what she wants to do and how she wants to do it.’” he said. “And she does the work.”

During the same conversation, the actor also noted that Grace is the most “like me” of his children.

“I called her this morning around ten o’clock. I wanted to pick her up before she went to the stable. She was already on the horse at the stable,” he said, laughing. “So she definitely has my work ethic. She doesn’t mess around. If you even think about her being late or missing something, that’s a big deal.”

Wahlberg has always been outspoken about the importance of his children in his life – and about the fact that, despite a busy career, the role of ‘father’ is by far the most important to him.

“I want to give my children the world, but I also want them to appreciate everything, to succeed, to be good people and to enjoy life,” he said. Boston Common in 2011.

“This is my most important role. If I fail at this, I fail at everything. I consider myself strict even though I can be a pusher,” he added. “If my kids want something, they can usually get it. But they can’t get away with it.”
